Kimberly O'Steen is the owner of the law firm of Kimberly A. O'Steen, P.L. and practices in the areas of Family Law, including same-sex families and Collaborative Law, and Estate Planning. She concentrates in the areas of client representation in the realm of divorce, child custody, alimony, marital property division, child support, visitation / timesharing, paternity, guardianships, jurisdictional disputes, interstate child custody and child support matters, domestic violence injunctions and protective orders, probate, trust administration, the creation of wills, trusts, durable powers of attorney, health care surrogates and living wills.
She focuses on these areas to give clients the most up to date information and services possible. It is her goal to stay on the forefront of changes and laws affecting our practice areas, which is the reason the firm is limited in scope to the above matters.
She regularly appears in the State of Florida, primarily in the counties of Duval, Clay and St. Johns. She has skillfully litigated and settled hundreds of domestic cases, obtaining favorable results for her clients. She has represented clients who had significant assets at stake. She has obtained custody for many clients, both men and women.
She is a member of the Florida State Bar and the Middle District of Florida Bar, was on the board of Betty Griffin House (the domestic violence shelter in St. Johns County), and a former member of the Southside Business Men's Club, Jacksonville Chamber, St. Johns County Chamber and Clay County Chamber. She is a graduate of the University of Florida Levins Law School and published in an International Human Rights journal. She received her MBA from the University of North Florida and her undergraduate degrees at Florida State University. She is a Florida native.
